WaterFest on Daniel Island: A Celebration of Life Along the Wando River

Categories: Events

There’s something special about an afternoon spent along the Wando River. Good music, great food, familiar faces and a waterfront setting that invites you to stay a little longer. It’s the kind of experience that makes life on Daniel Island so memorable, and it’s exactly what WaterFest is all about.

Each fall, The Waterfront on Daniel Island brings together neighbors, friends and families for WaterFest, an annual community celebration featuring Lowcountry favorites, live entertainment, family-friendly activities and a shared appreciation for the waterways that make Charleston such a remarkable place to call home.

Now in its seventh year, WaterFest returns on Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 1–4 PM, with another afternoon of festivities at Waterfront Park.

A Daniel Island Tradition Worth Celebrating

Daniel Island has a way of bringing people together. From neighborhood gatherings and outdoor concerts to afternoons spent exploring its parks and waterfront trails, there’s no shortage of ways to enjoy the Lowcountry lifestyle.

WaterFest has become one of those occasions that neighbors look forward to year after year.

Hosted at The Waterfront, a riverfront community situated along the Wando River, this annual celebration is an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, connect with the community and experience a little of what makes waterfront living here so distinctive.

And while the festivities change from year to year, the spirit of WaterFest remains the same: celebrating the people, places and natural beauty that make Daniel Island feel like home.

What to Expect at WaterFest 2026

This year’s WaterFest brings together a few of our favorite Lowcountry traditions, with something for every generation to enjoy.

Guests can settle in for an afternoon of live music by Evelyn Ivory Band, enjoy a classic Lowcountry boil, barbecue and drinks prepared by Reeds Catering, and take in the river views from Waterfront Park.

For those keeping an eye on Saturday’s football games, our Game Day Corner will be streaming live matchups throughout the afternoon.

Families will find plenty to explore, too. Younger guests can get creative at the kids’ art station, discover fascinating wildlife at an interactive reptile exhibit with the South Carolina Aquarium, and enjoy a little bubbly fun with Good Clean Fun’s bubble therapy.

Whether you’re coming with friends, bringing the grandchildren or simply looking for a lovely way to spend a fall afternoon in Charleston, WaterFest offers something for everyone.

Celebrating the Waterways That Connect Us

At The Waterfront, our connection to the water extends well beyond the views.

The Wando River is part of everyday life here, from morning walks along the shoreline to afternoons spent boating, paddling or simply watching the tide roll in.

It’s also why supporting the health of our local waterways is an important part of WaterFest.

Each year, the event provides an opportunity to give back to Charleston Waterkeeper, a local non-profit dedicated to protecting and restoring Charleston’s waterways for current and future generations.

A portion of WaterFest 2026 ticket proceeds will benefit Charleston Waterkeeper, helping support its work throughout the Lowcountry.

Guests can also participate in a raffle featuring prizes from local businesses, adding another fun way to contribute to a meaningful cause.

Discover Life at The Waterfront on Daniel Island

While WaterFest is a celebration in its own right, it’s also an invitation to experience The Waterfront and the surrounding Daniel Island community.

Situated on 22 acres along the Wando River, The Waterfront brings together thoughtfully designed residences, inviting gathering spaces and an exceptional setting that encourages time spent outdoors.

Waterfront Park, the setting for WaterFest, is a favorite destination for residents and visitors alike. With walking trails, waterfront swings, a playground and beautiful river views, it’s a place to linger long after the festivities have ended.

Just beyond the park, discover local favorites like The DIME for coffee and casual bites or The Kingstide for waterfront dining. More than 25 miles of island trails offer opportunities to explore on foot or by bike, connecting The Waterfront to the many amenities of Daniel Island.

For those curious about making The Waterfront home, our sales team will also be offering tours of our model residences during WaterFest. Explore our collection of condominium residences, townhomes and marshfront homes, each offering a different perspective on life along the Wando.

It’s a chance to see not only the homes themselves, but the community and lifestyle that surround them.
